‘Last year,
Marie Curie Cancer Care wanted to keep its supporters inspired and better informed - so they came to us for help
Client
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free palliative care for terminally ill patients, either in the patient's home or in one of the charity's network of hospices. When they approached Northstar, they were looking for a magazine that would raise awareness of their work and encourage supporter loyalty, as well as help raise funds.
Creative
Northstar took Shine On, the charity's existing quarterly magazine, in a more editorial direction. Engaging the reader in a much more effective way, the magazine now plays a key role in the Marie Curie Cancer Care community. By focusing on the extraordinary work done by the charity's nurses, and the dedication of its fundraisers, it engages with the supporters at a deeper level, making them feel more attached to the charity.
Effectiveness
The editorial weaves in measurable fundraising messages. Donations attributable to Shine On totalled £1.7 million in the past year, from 90,000 separate donations, averaging £18.88. So the magazine is enabling Marie Curie Nurses to treat more patients in the place of their choice.
Why we love working with Marie Curie
