Epic feats of endurance – what a fantastic theme for the 2009 edition of the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed! There were so many stories of drivers who’d claimed victory in the face of adversity that it was hard for us to choose what to include and what to leave out. In the end, we managed to whittle the list down to the very best stories, and it made for a gripping introduction to a weekend of adrenalin-fuelled events and displays of pure speed on the Goodwood estate.
