The winter issue of Shine On for Marie Curie Cancer Care had us travelling the length and breadth of the UK to meet Marie Curie Heroes – the nurses, fundraisers, collectors and many others who donate their time and energy to helping this important charity.

We also spoke to David Rood, who told us the moving story of how Marie Curie Nurses helped his mother, Ceinwen, maintain her independence through the last days of her life. And, as ever, we featured plenty of ways for readers to get involved with the charity through news and regional updates.

This issue of the magazine has gone on to outperform its fundraising targets by 30 per cent.
