Who we work with

Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo has built a reputation for unrivalled style, passion and original thinking. And it is these qualities that we reflect in each issue of Feel, our quarterly magazine for the company. Each issue opens with an exclusive illustrated cover treatment, and the editorial is designed to give readers a behind-the-scenes insight into Alfa’s cars, people, technology and heritage through dynamic, inspiring photography and intelligent, entertaining stories.

Feel also has a strong online presence as part of the members-only Cloverleaf Club, helping to increase competition entries, encourage test drives and, ultimately, boost sales.

Audi

Our work for the premium car maker includes bespoke magazine websites for both the UK and Russian markets, fully updated every quarter and broadcast to sales prospects with personalised content.

We also produce the much-admired, award-winning Audi Magazine, which not only informs the reader about the company’s products but covers a broad range of subjects in an innovative, authoritative manner, communicating a very strong brand message. In addition, we develop editorialised direct marketing initiatives, working closely with Audi’s UK advertising agency, BBH.

Brent Cross Shopping Centre

Launching in Spring 2010 and publishing three times a year, Northstar’s new ‘mini mag’ for the North London shopping centre is designed to encourage footfall at the centre and enhance the shopping experience for visitors.

Tailored to the more discerning shopper, this 16-page magazine boasts photography that wouldn’t look out of place within the editorial pages of a top women’s glossy, while competitions and offers from leading brands provide strong shopping incentives.

Bullring

Northstar’s new magazine for the Birmingham shopping centre will be launched in Spring 2010. With its strong product focus, Browse is aimed at a style-savvy audience, who are incentivised to visit and shop not just by the sharp, fashion-forward editorial approach but also by the competitions and promotions offered to shoppers through the magazine by key Bullring brands.

The 32-page glossy will extend its reach into the online world through seasonal ‘mini movies’ set to appear on various fashion websites.

Go Ape!

The high-wire forest adventure company charged Northstar with the task of communicating its unique spirit, and encouraging repeat visits to its rapidly expanding network of tree-top courses. The result is Tribe, a 36-page magazine full of original photography, inspiring stories and – most importantly – fun.

Distributed to all Go Ape customers, Tribe is a great example of how a magazine can be tailored to fit a brand perfectly. We also provide content for Gorilla Beat, a monthly e-newsletter for die-hard Go Apers.

Goodwood

We’ve been producing publications for Lord March and the Goodwood estate since we first began trading back in Spring 2003, and our programmes for the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival events remain at the heart of our portfolio.

The highest standards of creativity and account management are required for every detail of this work. Northstar has married its skills in editorial, advertising, production and distribution to satisfy all the client's expectations – and win several awards along the way.

Hammerson plc

Our magazines for three shopping centres in the Hammerson group – Oracle (Reading), WestQuay (Southampton) and Highcross (Leicester) – have proved to be the perfect vehicle for driving sales. The three publications contain shared content alongside material specific to the individual shopping centres.

Full of style-savvy fashion features and product photography of the highest quality, plus enticing competitions and store promotions, the magazines are designed to improve brand perception, increase centre footfall and direct readers to stores.

Mappin & Webb

As catalogue supplier for this high-end jewellery and watch retailer, we have successfully rejuvenated its brand proposition with a series of publications that reflect the company’s position at the premium end of the market. The key to this process has been capturing the intricacy and timeless elegance of the diamonds, watches and jewellery offered by Mappin & Webb - a challenge requiring considerable finesse.

The end products have consistently surpassed the brief, successfully communicating the brand’s primary attributes: luxury, heritage, and superlative craftsmanship.

Marie Curie Cancer Care

This leading UK cancer charity relies on the generosity of its supporters to fund its nursing services, hospices and research programmes. We produce Marie Curie Cancer Care’s flagship quarterly magazine, Shine On, which is designed to drive donations, build a community among those who support the charity, and keep people in touch with the vital work of Marie Curie Nurses. These aims are also supported by the fundraising bulletins we produce for every region of the UK.

Mazda

We’ve been producing work for Mazda since the earliest days of Northstar back in 2003. Our highly specialised work for the company involves managing the production of brochures for specific marketing needs around Mazda’s special-edition cars. The photography and promotional copy we create demand high levels of creativity and exacting attention to detail, and these assets are then repurposed in Mazda’s campaigns across all media.

Red Bull F1

Managing the F1 season launch photography for both Red Bull Racing and its sister F1 outfit, Scuderia Toro Rosso, the Northstar team is central to the project from initial concept development through to execution and final output of all assets for the season.

Sourcing and travelling to locations across the world (usually with a couple of GP drivers/cars in tow), our team of photographers and art directors have produced sensational images that communicate not only the teams’ distinct branding but the glamour and innovation of F1.

Porsche

Porsche appointed Northstar to produce bespoke content for the UK pages of the brand’s global magazine, Christophorus, in February 2010. With our journalistic experience and extensive knowledge and passion for cars, we feel we’re the perfect fit for Porsche. All the content we produce for Christophorus reflects the brand’s premium nature – we combine the best photographers in Europe to convey the drama, speed and beauty of Porsche’s range in the imagery, with our skills in high quality magazine craft to produce features that appeal to the UK market. We are also using the magazine’s content to link more closely with Porsche’s web and marketing activity, to create a coherent brand communication package.

Watches of Switzerland

Calibre, a twice-yearly magazine published on behalf of Watches of Switzerland, has built an enviable reputation across the industry for reflecting all that’s best in the world of high-end watchmaking. In line with the values of such a respected watch retailer, this award-winning publication boasts superbly executed photographic concepts alongside interviews and expert commentary from leading industry journalists.

A celebration of beauty, skill and technical excellence, Calibre enhances the standing of all the watch brands that fall under the Watches of Switzerland umbrella.
